Navadurga and the Navagrahas, TriShakti Healing

Nine Forms of Maa Durga. Navagrahas. Nine Inner Transformations.

One Powerful Opportunity to Change Your Life.

Every Sharadiya Navratri, we celebrate Maa Durga's victory over the demons. We perform pūjā, observe vrata, chant mantras, and seek Her blessings. But have we ever asked ourselves a difficult question?

What if the demons Maa Durga wants us to defeat are not outside us, but within us?

Our anger, arrogance, greed, jealousy, fear, attachments, indiscipline, and ignorance continue to shape our karma.

We ask the Navagrahas to bless us and protect us from suffering. But are we correcting the very behaviours through which we create suffering?

The true power of Navratri is not merely in worshipping Śakti, but in awakening that Śakti within ourselves and using that shakti in regulating & applying our buddhi through Shram and Shaurya to get to Samruddhi.

  • Magha Gupt Navratri to Chaitra Navratri: Roughly 55 to 65 days (about 2 months).
  • Chaitra Navratri to Ashadha Gupt Navratri: Roughly 75 to 85 days (about 2.5 to 3 months).
  • Ashadha Gupt Navratri to Sharad Navratri: Roughly 75 to 85 days (about 2.5 to 3 months).
  • Sharad Navratri to Magha Gupt Navratri: Roughly 90 to 105 days (about 3 months).

Let us understand how the nine forms of Maa Durga can help us transform our karma and work constructively with the Navagrahas.

Maa Durga, Navagraha and Karma: The Correct Way to Harness Divine Energy

  • Śakti without transformation is an opportunity wasted. Pūjā, japa and vrata should lead to changes in our thoughts, decisions, habits and actions.
  • Grahas are not our enemies. They signify different dimensions of life and karmic experience. Their favourable or difficult expressions must be understood through our Janma Kuṇḍalī.
  • Graha Śānti is not about escaping karma. It is about cultivating viveka, correcting harmful conduct and reducing the creation of further unfavourable karma.
  • Every graha offers opportunities for growth. We must strengthen its constructive qualities rather than merely fear its difficult expressions.
  • Each day of Navratri should produce one Saṅkalpa. Identify a weakness, begin a corrective practice and continue it beyond Navratri.

Central message: Do not merely ask Maa to remove your problems. Ask Her to give you the Śakti to stop creating them.

What Will You Actually Change This Navratri?

Nine nights. Nine forms of Maa Durga. Navagrahas. Nine opportunities to transform ourselves.

We ask Maa Durga to destroy the demons. But are we prepared to surrender the demons living within us?

We ask Sūrya for success, but refuse to give up our ego. We ask Candra for peace, but refuse to regulate our emotions. We ask Maṅgala for strength, but continue to misuse our anger.

We ask Śukra for loving relationships while hurting those who love us. We seek Guru's blessings without practising dharma. And we fear Śani's pariksha without correcting our conduct.

How can we expect our lives to change if we refuse to change ourselves?

This Navratri, make nine Saṅkalpas. Begin nine corrections. Let each form of Maa Durga awaken a new strength within you.

Do not abandon these Saṅkalpas when Navratri ends. Carry them into the next 108 days of your life.

Because the greatest victory Maa Durga can help us achieve is not merely victory over external difficulties, but victory over the ignorance, weaknesses and habits through which we repeatedly create our own suffering.

Jai Mahākāl. Jai Maa Kālī.
